IThe first half of 2022 closes with record numbers for the Volkswagen Groupat least as regards the deliveries of electric cars. Despite the problems related to procurement, strongly conditioned by the lockdowns in China, the Volkswagen Group managed to deliver about 217 thousand electric cars during the first half of 2022. The figure in question translates into an increase in +27% compared to the data of the first half of last year. Here are all the numbers disclosed by the German company:

With over 217,000 units delivered, the Volkswagen Group closes the first half of 2022 with a new record for its range of electric cars. Growth on the global market is + 27% and was recorded despite the well-known supply problems.
It should be noted that the company registers a very strong growth in demand for electric cars in Western Europewith orders up by + 40% on an annual basis. It should also be noted that BEV deliveries in China tripled with a total of 63,000 units.
Leading the group’s sales, as far as the electric car division is concerned, is the Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5 with a total of 66 thousand units sold which precedes the ID.3 with 26 thousand units. Third position for the Audi e-tron (including the Sportback version) with 24,000 units.
