Today Volkswagen announces ID.7 GTX Tourerthe first station wagon in the GTX range, which debuts today together with the compact car ID.3 GTX and a month later a ID.7 Tourer. A car with elegant lines but plenty of space, as well as a battery 86kWh and a power of 250kW. Furthermore, it takes advantage of all the intelligence of the assistant IDA, which we even managed to make “blush” when we tested it in preview. And by the end of the year, it will also add ChatGPT to the technologies integrated into this electric car.
Volkswagen ID.7 GTX Tourer, what the new electric car is like
If you need the volumes of a station wagon and want great electric power, the ID.7 GTX Tourer is the car to consider. With a power of 250 kW (340 CV)the GTX Tourer offers decisive thrust thanks to the two electric motors.
The new car from Volkswagen allows you to combine sportsmanship e comfortwith an electric all-wheel drive a 4MOTION double engine which guarantees dynamic driving. Compared to the ID.7 Tourer Pro, we find 40kW (54 horsepower) of extra power. Furthermore, Volkswagen has developed the ID.7 GTX Tourer with a configuration which, at the beginning of an acceleration phase, converts the maximum power of the system into propulsion and the maximum torque of the traction in a few milliseconds.
The new lithium-ion battery from 86 kWh it should guarantee, according to Volkswagen’s own data, 625 kilometers of autonomy. You can organize your trip by asking the IDA voice assistant to take charging breaks into account with EV Route Planner, so you can really move anywhere. At DC fast charging stations, it can be recharged with a maximum power of 200 kW, ensuring rapid charging times. To get an idea: it should go from 10 to 80% in half an hour.
Sporty character, without sacrificing comfort
In addition to the electric power, there are several details that differentiate the GTX version compared to the ID.7 Tourer announced in February. The bumper with honeycomb grill, for example, but also the fact that all the black elements are mirrored. The alloy wheels from 20 inches Skagen, mirror-polished blacks (21-inch models should also be available as an option), and customized interiors with GTX lettering in the seats, steering wheel and red details, emphasize the sporty and distinctive character of the ID.7 GTX Tourer.
But the comfort of an electric station wagon remains: ID.7 GTX Tourer does not sacrifice space for sportiness. With a maximum loading volume of 1,714 litersloading up to the backrests of the first row of seats, and 605 liters with five people on board, the GTX Tourer retains the large spaces of the 210kW version. The bottom of the long trunk 1.075 mm and the flat loading surface of 1.948 mm with folded rear seat backrests, they make it versatile as well as fun to drive.
