Asymmetric multiplayer experts IllFonic have posted Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, a new video game for gamers of all ages. The game is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC (via the Epic Games Store).
The players will be called to adrenaline 4v1 battles in “Hunt or Haunt” mode. As the name suggests, on the one hand there will be a team of 4 ghost hunters in search of the ghost who will have to defeat the Ghostbusters instead.

To the rhythm of the iconic Ghostbusters theme song (which prevents us from sitting still in the chair even now that we write to you), the trailer introduces us to a Ghostbusters agency looking for new recruits. And the recruits will obviously be us players. However, those who want to experience the ghostly thrill of having a target on their floating head can decide to take on the role of the ghost (or rather the ectoplasm).
Players will indeed choose whether to join the 4-player team of ghost hunters or be the infester themselves. The game obviously supports the multiplayer online con crossplay. However it will also be possible to have fun alone in singleplayer offlinechallenging the AI.
Using the advanced technologies available to the Ghostbusters, players will be able to choose one of four Ghostbusters. As you progress through the game, each character will unlock equipment and costumes.
Those who play as a ghost will have different powers at their disposal, such as possession of objects, slime and much more. There are five ghosts available, each with specific abilities and small minions to command, and they will be able to terrorize citizens and organize pranks on the Ghostbusters.
The various games will not be entirely standalone. In fact, playing will reveal a more complex one original story told through movies and cinematics.
Fans of the Ghostbusters franchise will be happy to hear that the game features iconic weapons and gadgets from the series. Among these we point out the Proton Backpacks, PKEs and Ghost Traps. Many of the places dear to the followers of the saga will also be faithfully reproduced, such as the London Firehouse and the Ray’s Occult Library, which will be the starting hub of the game. Here, players will find the original voices of Ray Stantz e Winston Zeddemore.
