WhatsApp today announced some new features for group chats and emails community. The latter is the feature introduced last year that allows creators to open their own group in which to keep their fans updated.

All the news of WhatsApp for groups and communities
Previously anyone could join using an invite link provided by any member. Typically a message within the chat indicates the entry of a new member, thus allowing the admin to remove the user if this is unwanted. However, it is very easy for the message in question to go unnoticed, especially in very active communities with many messages. In this way the administrator can decide manually whether or not to accept new members.
A further update concerns the possibility to find out if a specific user has groups or communities in common with you. Also in this case it is a feature already known to Telegram users, which is also preparing to debut on WhatsApp.
The new updates announced today will be available to all WhatsApp users in the coming weeks. At this link you will find the official blog post of Meta.
