Here's where to stream Poor Creatures by Yorgos Lanthimos starring Emma Stone, winner of four statuettes at the 2024 Oscars
The film that transformed its protagonist Emma Stone into the most sought-after actress on the web is available in streaming on Disney+. 141′ long, it is the film that won the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival 2023. The first of the many awards won by the second film by the Lanthimos-Stone duo, after The Favourite.
And a third is already ready: it is the mysterious Kinds of Kindness, already completed and among the probable titles of the next Cannes Film Festival. In fact, the American release has already been announced: June 21st. Written and (perhaps even filmed) in New Orleans in 2022, it has a very rich cast. Beyond Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Joe Alwyn, Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Hunter Schafer and Mamoudou Athie. The story, still unknown, is written by the Greek director's historical collaborator Efthimis Filippou (together they wrote The Lobster and The Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer).

The film starring Emma Stone won numerous awards including four Oscar Awards (Best leading actress to Emma Stone, Best production design, Best costumes and Best make-up and hairstyling), five BAFTA awards (Best Actress, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyle and Best Special Effects), without forgetting the Golden Lion at the last Venice Film Festival. The film is available from March 14th exclusively on the Disney Plus streaming platform in Italy. Here we propose the review.
Furthermore, we point out that poor creatures will be released on April 18th on bluray: a physical 4K bluray edition is not planned for this title, neither in Italy nor in the rest of the world, while on Disney+ it will be possible to reproduce the film in 4K HDR and Dolby Vision quality.

London, in a future era, but similar to that of the Victorian past in terms of architecture, inequalities and mental rigidity. The young Bella (Emma Stone) is brought back to life, after a suicide, by the rich scientist Godwin (Willem Dafoe), who practices experiments “frankensteiniani” and unorthodox. The man looks after and raises the girl like a daughter. Bella has a behavior that is somewhere between a puppy and a problem child. Godwin tries to teach Bella to speak, behave politely and be in the world. The kind and serious medical student Max McCandless (Ramy Youssef), Godwin's student, frequents her house and Baxter falls in love with the girl and asks her to marry him.
Based on the novel by Alasdair Graythe screenplay for Poor Creatures is written by Tony McNamara, the second collaboration with Lanthimos after The Favorite. The film is produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone. And, as mentioned, it is available for streaming on Disney Plus.
