The release date of XDefiant, Ubisoft’s shooter could be postponed. Let’s find out all the details in this dedicated news
Ubisoft had initially set the exit date of its long-awaited multiplayer shooter, XDefiant, for summer. However, an unexpected issue in the intricate certification processes with the PlayStation and Xbox consoles caused a slight delay. Mark Rubin, the game’s executive producer, recently provided some important information on the progress of the project.
Rubin explained that XDefiant was rejected during the certification process due to compliance bugs, which involve fundamental aspects such as the correct functioning of Trophies and Achievements. These bugs need to be resolved before the game can officially launch. To address this situation, the development team is working intensively to correct the problems and prepare a new submission for platform certification.
XDefiant: release date and postponement details
XDefiant will once again be vetted by console owners, which could happen within the next two weeks. Depending on the results obtained this time, the game could see the light between mid-September and mid-October. What sets XDefiant apart is Ubisoft’s approach, which it has chosen to actively involve players in the development process. This resulted in the lack of a certain launch date, as the game was made available in preview to gather feedback and improvements.
At launch, XDefiant will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PCwhile the versions for PS4 e Xbox One are in development, but a precise release date for these platforms has not been announced.
