Last year Xiaomi had launched Mi MIX Fold as the brand’s first folding smartphone and now the Chinese company is preparing for the debut of its successor, which will probably be called MIX Fold 2. Before any official confirmation from the company, there have been some reports that have shed some light on some aspects of the upcoming foldable smartphone – let’s take a look at what we know.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: here’s what we know
A new report from Digital Chat Station reveals that the foldable smartphone MIX Fold 2 could be launched in the second quarter of this year (Q2 2022), which means the device is expected to be distributed by retailers before the end of June 2022. A time window all in all quite close for a device that has not actually been announced yet.
If the above reports are correct, the second generation MIX Fold smartphone will feature an 8.1-inch display with 2K resolution. It is also said that both the internal and external displays of the device will have support for a high refresh rate, which will most likely be around 90 HZ.
Some analysts have also stated that this time Xiaomi will use the new display panels LTPO on this flagship device, which means we might also see support for adaptive refresh rate, similar to that offered by Samsung on its premium phones. A feature that would certainly be interesting to try on this line of devices.
Finally, it is very likely that the device is powered by the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and it should have a battery with a great autonomy, as well as support for fast charging and wireless charging. In short, excellent conditions, should they prove to be true.
