A few hours ago, Netflix released a new trailer, dedicated to the live action Yu Yu Hakusho. Let’s take a look
Great anticipation for the new live action adaptation Yu Yu Hakushobased on the manga written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi, also known as Yu of the Ghosts, which was followed by an anime series. Now it’s time to retrace this adventure in the company of characters played by real actors. We can already have a small preview of what we will see, from the trailer published by Netflix just a few hours ago.

For those who don’t know the events told in the original manga, remember that this is the story featuring the protagonist Yusuke Urameshi, a troubled teenager who, in the heroic act of saving a child, is killed by a car. Having arrived in the afterlife, the young man is given the opportunity to live again, passing a series of tests to become a “Detective of the Spirit world”.
In the trailer we could get a taste of what we will see in this new live action. In the first seconds, it is in fact presented, through a narrative voice, what the origins are, from which this adventure will unfold. But that is not all; thanks to this preview we can say, with some certainty, that Yu Yu Hakusho will be full of adrenaline-pumping action scenes, including sword duels and karate blows. The cast includes Takumi Kitamura, in the role of the protagonist Yusuke, of whom one of his characteristic moves is already shown in the trailer: the “Spirit Gun”. At his side Shuhei Uesugi, Sei Shiraishi, Jun Shison, Canada July, Meiko Kaji, Kenichi Takito, Goro Inagaki e Go Ayano.
Release date
As can be imagined, the live action will cover the first episodes of the original manga and the anime adaptation. The episodes will be made available by Netflix starting from December 14th.
