Zero: Coming to Netflix April 21, 2021

Zero is arriving on April 21 on the Netflix platform, in Italy and in 190 countries where the service is active, the press conference with the cast and creators of the series has revealed many details on what to expect.

ZERO is the new Italian Netflix original series in 8 episodes born from an idea by Antonio Dikele Distefano and produced by Fabula Pictures with the participation of Red Joint Film, available on Netflix in all countries where the service has been active since 21 April. The cast is made up of young Italian talents, first and second generation: Giuseppe Dave Seke (Zero / Omar), Haroun Fall (Sharif), Beatrice Grannò (Anna), Richard Dylan Magon (Momo), Daniela Scattolin (Sara), Madior Fall (Hymn), Virginia Diop (Awa), Alex Van Damme (Thierno), Frank Crudele (Sandokan), Giordano de Plano (Ricci), Ashai Lombardo Arop (Marieme), Roberta Mattei (The Virgin), Miguel Gobbo Diaz (Rico ) and Livio Kone (Honey).

Antonio Dikele Distefano, a rising star in the Italian publishing scene, wrote the series, created by Menotti, together with Stefano Voltaggio (also Creative Executive Producer) Massimo Vavassori, Lisandro Monaco and Carolina Cavalli, giving shape to an original and unique exploration of Milan and telling a rich and varied world of under-represented cultures, to which significant contributions from the rap scene will be added.

ZERO is directed by Paola Randi, Ivan Silvestrini, Margherita Ferri and Mohamed Hossameldin. In particular Paola Randi directed the first and third episode, Mohamed Hossameldin the second, Margherita Ferri the fourth and fifth episode, while Ivan Silvestrini the sixth, seventh and eighth episode.

Lhe series is freely inspired by the novel “I never had my age” by Antonio Dikele Distefano, published by Mondadori.

Zero: the soundtrack with Mamhood and Marracash

To mark the rhythm of a “street” story, an important soundtrack that sees the presence of great Italian and international contemporary artists.

The composer of the music, created especially for Zero, is Yakamoto Kotzuga. Among the main songs in the soundtrack, the unreleased Mahmood which also accompanied the trailer, entitled Zero, written by A. Mahmood, D. Petrella, D. Faini and produced by Dardust, which closes the series and which will part of Mahmood’s new album due out this spring. In addition, the artist plays the important role of music supervisor of the last episode, for which he oversaw the music selection. In the first episode, there is the song Red Bull 64 Bars x Zero by Marracash produced by Marz, entitled “64 barre di Paura”, also in the ZERO teaser, currently available exclusively on www.redbull.com/64bars.

In the complete soundtrack of ZERO, the songs of artists of the most modern and current Italian musical scenario alternate, ranging from rap, urban, trap and R&B: Tha Supreme with Blun7 in Swishland, Emis Killa with Fuoco e Benzina, Bloody Vinyl, Slait, Tha Supreme feat. Mara Sattei and Coez with Swings, Madame with Voice and Ginevra with Rajasthan. Alongside our local successes, there is also a look at the international scene with sophisticated and multi-cultural songs, including great classics and novelties: Lil Wayne with Uproar, Alborosie with Cry, Amadou and Mariam feat. Manu Chao with Sénégal Fast Food, Nahaze with Behind and Ama Lou with Northside.
