Our new all-electric multi-activity vehicle is the latest demonstration. Of our acceleration towards global production of large-scale electric vehicles. Connected, a real must-have for our customers”. declares Martin Sander, General Manager, Ford Model and Europe.
The E-Tourneo Courier is one of ten 100% electric vehicles that Ford will offer in Europe by 2024. This with the aim of selling exclusively zero-emission vehicles by 2035.
The company is investing $50 billion globally by 2026. To achieve the production of more than 2 million 100% electric vehicles within the same year.
The 100% electric version will arrive in Europe in 2024, 1 after the launch of the Tourneo Courier 1 with EcoBoost petrol engine which will be available to order as early as this summer, with the first deliveries by the end of 2023.
Designed for adventure
The E-Tourneo Courier was developed from a blank sheet to combine style, space and practicality, enclosed in a manageable and compact vehicle. Short overhangs and simple, clean lines reinforce the visual breadth and robustness of the exterior, while the front end of the electric versions features a futuristic-looking coast-to-coast light bar and the distinctive Blue Oval chrome grille.
“We’ve designed the E-Tourneo Courier to help customers get the most out of life, whether it’s when they’re with family or friends, or when they come home with the seats folded down and the bikes stowed in the back of the vehicle. The exterior design expresses this simple, no-nonsense character,” he said Amko Leenarts, Design Director, Ford of Europe. “The SUV-inspired styling is rugged on the outside and roomy on the inside, while the modern details of the electric version add exclusivity, strongly reaffirming the E-Tourneo Courier’s belonging to the electric revolution undertaken by the brand”.
Spacious interior and spacious trunk
E-Tourneo Courier was developed to carry up to five adults and their luggage in comfort, with optimized practicality thanks to the 60-40 split rear seats and a 44% larger trunk than the previous model. Increased headroom and optimized space offer a more comfortable cabin for passengers as well as multiple storage areas, including a configurable center console, a ‘secret’ compartment and a 44-litre frunk.
L’digital onboard experience is centered around the innovative “digiboard” dashboard featuring a fully digital instrument cluster and SYNC 4 multimedia system controlled via the large 12-inch touchscreen. Connectivity is guaranteed by compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; over-the-air software updates allow vehicle features to evolve over time. A convenient wireless charger is also available on board to power smartphones while on the road.
The range consists of unmistakably styled versions, including the distinctive Active model with contrasting black or white roof, wheel arch mouldings, roof bars and original textured seats.
New all-electric experience
The E-Tourneo Courier’s 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor delivers smooth travel, further accentuated by the driver-selectable One Pedal riding mode. The most comprehensive advanced driver assistance package in the category 7 makes it easier on both daily commutes and longer journeys. It is also possible to choose between the driving modes Normal, Eco and Slippery.
The vehicle can be recharged in stations of 11 kW in alternating current or up to 100 kW in direct current. Home recharging management is made easier by the practical app and by the possibility of planning recharging times taking into account the most convenient energy tariffs, where available. A typical overnight home charge takes less than 6 hours on average to go from 10 to 100%. 8 Ford software and the Blue Oval Charge Network – which is one of the largest in Europe, set to include 500,000 charge points by 2024 – also facilitate public charging. With a DC charge, customers can add 87km of range in just 10 minutes and can go from 10 to 80% charge in less than 35 minutes. 8
The E-Tourneo Courier will be produced in Craiova, Romania starting in the second half of 2024, alongside the Puma crossover, Ford’s best-selling car in Europe, which will offer an all-electric variant by 2024.
The 125PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engine version will go into production during 2023. 1 Further details on the full range of products can be found in the factsheet.
