The Pegasus Dream Tour: what marked the beginning of a new era. The first Paralympic video game ever is achieving outstanding results.
Usability, connection, interchange: three guidelines within a planetary event that par excellence celebrates inclusiveness and positivity. A virtual “hub” to meet and express all your feelings towards the Paralympic appointment, in a period where – it must always be remembered – the first Games in history were held totally behind closed doors.
The Pegasus Dream Tour: an increasingly growing trend
Launched in June 2021, the game has seen exponential growth in its daily downloads over the past fortnight: a result probably linked to the fact that the “real” Paralympics, where Italy collected 69 medals (all-time record for a blue expedition …), are intertwined with the “virtual” scenario.
But it’s not just this. In fact, the game is also linked to virtual concerts, with representative characters of the Japanese musical universe, avatars of Paralympic athletes, interactive modes and projections of the salient phases of the real Paralympics.
“Pegasus Parasports Grand Prix” allowed players, in the period from 25 August to 5 September, to be able to compete in virtual competitions of 5 Paralympic disciplines by competing for podiums and medals, in a “Three Drops” ranking (symbol of the Paralympics, as are the Five Circles of the Olympics) animated by a general points collection system.
The final event
From the closing ceremony of the Paralympics, held on 5 September, to the “Avatar Gala Party” on 19 September (11 am), when the vocal and dance group J-Pop will perform on the Pegasus City stage J Soul Brothers III by Exile Tribe: one last great moment of sharing not to be missed.
