“Y: The Last Man” is a drama series based on the Dc Comics science fiction collection of the same name. It will be released on September 22, 2021 on the Disney + Star platform
All episodes of the season will be directed by women, and the production also includes a significant number of female appearances including both the directors of photography, the production designer, the costume designer, the editors, the stunt coordinator and more.
“Y: The Last Man” wants to distance himself from the animated series with superheroes by opting for a story intended for an adult audience. The plot is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a virus has annihilated the male population of the earth, except the protagonist Yorick Brown and his monkey who will have to save the planet from catastrophe and build something better.

The series will arrive on the Disney + Star section platform on Wednesday 22 September 2021 and the first 3 episodes will be released, the rest will be released weekly every Wednesday.
The cast includes actress Diane Lane, actor Ben Schnetzer in the title role, Olivia Thirlby and Ashley Romans. The series is produced by Fx Productions.
Showrunner Eliza Clark said the show will analyze gender disparities and social divisions that exist. Very current themes that will be staged through a catastrophic setting, within which the protagonist will try to find meaning in everything.
In August 2021, the trailer for the series was released which gives us a rather raw taste of what lies ahead, amidst devastation, deaths and social tensions.
The premises of this show are very interesting and current, certainly the directors will offer us significant ideas to reflect on through an original, dystopian and modern staging.
