Microsoft has long been looking for an opening in the ranks of Japanese gamers to slip into, and it was during the Tokyo Game Show 2021 that it was able to showcase the new Game Pass title park, starting with the arrival of Scarlet Nexus
The Tokyo Games Show 2021 has provided Microsoft with a virtual stage suitable for its presentation new marketing strategy aimed at the Japanese and Asian market, presenting a varied list of games, including very nice indies such as metroidvania Lapin and titles of greater stature such as Bethesda’s Starfield. Among the further novelties of the Tokyo Games Show 2021, there were also announcements of games coming soon on the Xbox Game Pass, including Scarlet Nexus, along with the co-op FPS Back 4 Blood, AI: Somnium Files, and Mighty Goose.

Speaking of Scarlet Nexus, the recent new RPG developed by Bandai Namco, released in June 2021 and received rather positively by critics and gamers, was presented for the first time in May 2020, always during a showcase regarding Xbox Series X. The news given to us today is that Scarlet Nexus will soon be part of the Xbox Game Pass catalog, and by soon we actually mean from today. In addition, a new trailer for the game was also shown, indicating the upcoming release of a DLC.
However, it’s not the only game talked about today: as mentioned before, Microsoft is putting in motion its new plan to enter the countries where the Xbox brand still struggles to emerge further. And it is the Tokyo Game Show 2021, the moment in which they were able to create space for important announcements that will constitute in the future the consolidation of the relationship between Microsoft and the oriental development houses: we will therefore see the debut, also on Game Pass, of works even less thick than Scarlet Nexus, which are categorized into titles purely more indie but still Japanese or Korean, like Craftopia, Unsouled, The Good Life, RPG Life and Eternal Return.
