After seeing the new Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone mode, let’s find out more how it works, and if it will be pay-to-win
With the new trailer for Hazard Zone, we got new information about the mode. Will focus on “extraction” mechanics teams, where the winners will be those who manage to obtain the necessary data from the satellites crashed around the map, and then be taken from the battlefield in one of the two possible extractions during the game. DICE producer Amo Mostofi and design director Daniel Berlin have answered some questions: among them, there are also clarifications regarding the possible presence of Pay-to-Win and the average duration of the games, in the Hazard Zone mode of Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield 2042: will Pay-to-win arrive with Hazard Zone?
In Hazard Zone, a match will last between five and twenty minutes, based on how you play, what you choose to mine, and whether you are successful at doing so. The mode will be available on all seven maps within the game. The players will use the Specialists, but it will not be possible to contain more equal classes within their team; each character must be unique in its structure. XP points are given depending on how many data drives can be extracted, adding a bonus for personal performance which takes place in battle.
The AI that controls the enemies, called Occupation Forces, will be unpredictable: they will be able to roam the map, chase players, or protect valuable assets. In the event you die and do not have a redeployment request, you will be able to observe your team, and if they find a redeployment link, return to the game. Requests are the only way to get back to playing. Finally, they will not be needed real money to have these accessories: in fact, Pay-to-Win has been completely excluded through the use of Black Market credits, obtainable only by playing the Hazard Zone mode of Battlefield 2042. But who knows if the same will apply to possible future modes .
