WhatsApp has just released the update 2.21.22.3, of its beta version dedicated to the testers, which introduces an interesting novelty. In fact, in the update there is a new function, which is activated when a link di YouTube, Facebook o Instagram with a friend on WhatsApp, which can now be viewed with the picture in picture: WhatsApp Beta is also overhauling the picture in picture feature, implementing a new control bar.
WhatsApp Beta: the picture in picture function arrives
The new control bar allows you to quickly pause or resume the video, but there are other convenient functions such as opening the video in full screen mode or closing it. Initially this control bar was supposed to be available only for videos shared from YouTube, but it seems that WhatsApp is now opting to make available in any supported external video.
As for YouTube videos specifically, you can also use two options in full screen mode: “Watch Later” and “Share”. We remind you that it is possible to watch videos in picture-in-picture mode only through some services, namely Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, ShareChat and Streamable.
