SEGA has just filed a new brand called Sonic Frontiers, which according to some could be the new video game dedicated to the blue hedgehog whose development was announced last May. The new brand has been filed together with Shining Force and Hikari to Yami no Eiyuu, but we already know that these two titles are aimed at the mobile gaming market.
SEGA is about to announce Sonic Frontiers?
SEGA wasn’t the only one to file mysterious trademarks, since Square Enix was not outdone with The Diofield Chronicle and The Beasts of Burden, both titles that it seems should also arrive in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.
Among the brands destined to leave the borders of Japan, Square Enix also registered Various Daylife, for the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. This Various Daylife is already out and it is a role-playing and adventure game based on everyday life, developed by Square Enix and released for Apple Arcade in September 2019. That the company is thinking of sequels?
The most interesting announcement, however, is undoubtedly the one relating to Sonic Frontiers, which could be a new Sonic game in all respects. It seems that originally the title was to be called Sonic Rangers and it should be a open world con uno stile simile a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Other rumors would have confirmed that the game will come with a high budget and with Sonic as the only playable character, which we will be able to enhance through a series of additional moves that can radically change the gaming experience.
Of course, taking this information with a grain of salt, as there are still no official confirmations from SEGA. Said this, Sonic’s new adventure is expected to arrive in 2022, therefore, an announcement with all the trappings could not be long missing.
