A leak asserts that Call of Duty does not intend to give Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer a second chance: we quote the source verbatim
Activision has long been between two fuss: the first surrounds the behind the scenes of the company, but according to a leak the publisher seems willing to dispel the latter by reducing the excessive (and obsessive) focus on Call of Duty deleting the multiplayer remaster of Modern Warfare 2. In the era of remakes (which so far represent Spyro’s only return, for example), it seems that the overseas giant wants to put an end to nostalgia as an end in itself. Not that Activision has ever announced it wants to revive multiplayer, but there was reason to think so… so far.
Goodbye multiplayer: the Call of Duty leak closes the door of Modern Warfare 2
In fact, there is a reason if we are talking about a remake aimed exclusively at the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but in addition to the unexpected remaster of the campaign released last year according to the leak we should not expect anything. Whether Activision’s idea was not to stagger its user base or that the remake has been in the programs for some time, we’ll never know. What we do know is that a new (but already trusted) leaker on the scene specifically spoke of cancellation. We leave you in the company of the post of RalphsValve.

There would seem to have been many discussions about the return of multiplayer, but the insider Tom Henderson as early as April he confirmed that we would not be seeing the game within the year. As you can see above, RalphsValve did not provide any details. It could be a new remaster of the entire Modern Warfare 2, which has long been at the center of numerous rumors. If the latter were to translate into reality, we would understand why the publisher does not want to create confusion. The success of Warzone has shown that the synergy between “brothers” is not so unthinkable, but for now we just have to wait.
