Streaming your favorite show while charging is about to get easier. According to the latest rumors, Tesla is allegedly installing Starlink’s satellite dishes at the Superchargers located in the United States, starting from Florida. SpaceX’s satellite connection project could provide an extra service to Tesla users, both companies of Elon Musk.
Starlink satellite antennas arrive on Tesla Superchargers
If you want to watch a movie while waiting for the end of the fast charging of your Tesla, you have to focus on the cellular connection of the package Premium Connectivity. But this could soon change. The Electrek publication has collected the reports of some Tesla users who have seen Starlink satellite antennas in some locations Superchargers in Florida. Tesla has not yet provided any official comment on this.
The Starlink connection could be useful in several ways at Superchargers. First of all, to make it easier to manage payments and recharge reports, even in areas with little coverage of the cellular signal. But the speed gives 100 Mbps it can do more than just manage transactions. So many are expecting the arrival of a dedicated WiFi for Tesla users who decide to recharge the car at the stations.
Despite the super-fast charging, to go from 0 to 100% you need the time it could take to look at yourself some episode of your favorite TV series. With WiFi connection, you don’t have to use Premium Connectivity or that of your smartphone.
But this new service allows above all the more “solid” company of Elon Musk, the now dominant Tesla, to take advantage of the Starlink service which is still in its birth phase. Using all these satellites to stations could give a nice one drive sales and attract public interest on the satellite connection.
