Four years after its introduction, the Volkswagen T-Roc si renews for 2022. The restyling that includes changes in both the design and the interior of the German crossover affects all versions including the T-Roc R e la T-Roc Cabriolet.
The most important aesthetic changes are present in its front part, where new redesigned headlights have now been inserted that adapt the LED technology (optional iQ light). The grille has been redesigned, and now makes the front part a little more elegant, which can also count on the bumper with new daytime running lights and vertical fog lights, joined at both ends by a LED strip. At the rear the changes are similar and focus on the bumpers and lights. The offer of wheels is renewed with the possibility of choosing the diameter ranging from 16 to 19 inches.
Volkswagen T-Roc 2022, inside there is more
The changes that Volkswagen has brought to the interior of its T-Roc are certainly more important. The quality is greatly enhanced by the dashboard, what time is it made of a soft material and not hard plastic like in the outgoing model. The driver has a digital instrument panel gives 8” , while on the right it dominates infotainment screen, with a diameter that varies according to the version from 6.5 “, 8” and 9.2 “. Optionally, it is even possible to install the 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro.
The new T-Roc features the third generation of the Modular Infotainment Toolkit (MIB3), which enables the use of a variety of online functions and services. THE We Connect Plus services can be used free of charge in Europe for one year as part of the standard package. This means there are natural online streaming and voice control services available. If desired, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions can also be integrated wirelessly into the control system via App-Connect Wireless. The climate control is digitally controlled while the multifunction steering wheel is the same as the new Golf. .
With this internal restyling Volkswagen wanted to answer the many complaints of its customers who were not happy with the interior equipment and finishes, as they would have expected from a new generation SUV.
Complete the offer of security assistants, such as IQ.Drive Travel Assist which includes predictive cruise control that enable assisted steering, braking and acceleration at speeds up to 210 km / h.
The range of engines does not introduce changes – we still find the 1.0 TSI with three cylinders and 110 hp, the 1.5 TSI with four cylinders and 150 hp and the 2.0 TSI with four cylinders and 190 hp in petrol and diesel, the 2.0 TDI with 115 and 150 hp . To these is added the powerful 2.0 TSI with 300 HP and 400 Nm of torque declined only for the T-Roc R version. Even the transmissions have not changed: depending on the configuration, the engines are combined with a six-speed “mechanics” or a seven-speed “robot” DSG.
Availability and prices
Volkswagen announces that the new T-Roc and the new T-Roc Cabriolet are available for order since the end of this week. We will have to wait until the beginning of 2022 to order the new T-Roc R1. In the spring of 2022, all models will then be available at dealerships. The entrance price for the new one T-Roc with 1.0 TSI engine is 23,495 euros (VAT included); prices for the new T-Roc Cabriolet start at € 31,850 (including VAT) in the Style equipment line with the 1.0 TSI engine.
