Antlers – Insatiable Spirit, the new horror produced by Guillermo del Toro, is coming to Disney +
From January 5th, it will be possible to watch the film on the Disney streaming platform + the film Antlers – Insatiable Spirit, produced by Guillermo del Toro.
For all lovers of the horror genre
Disney + opens 2022 with many new releases in January, designed for all “tastes”. From 5 January we will be able to watch on the streaming platform “Antlers – Insatiable Spirit“. The new horror, completed in 2019 and released in theaters in 2022, was also made with the production of the Academy Award Guillermo del Toro.
To support the company, there is also the sometimes “visionary” direction of the director Scott Copper.
The film tells the story of Julia Meadows (Keri Russell), a teacher from a small town in the state ofOregon, who teaches in middle school. Everything seems to take place in the normality of everyday life, until she is hit by one of her students, one of the most reserved and shy: Lucas Weaver (Jeremy T. Thomas). Trying to get closer to him and understand the reasons for his actions, Julia will discover a terrible truth, a horrible secret: the presence of an ancestral creature, in life before the human race existed.
Unfortunately, however, the knowledge of the existence of this creature comes too late, when the town where the woman lives with her brother (and sheriff) Paul Meadows (Jesse Plemons), is now in serious danger …
Narration from myth and fairy tales
It is a horror between trauma and Native American tradition. Scott Cooper, has marked his direction using different elements of the human sphere. The characters have to deal with their traumas throughout the film to understand the representation of this pain that takes the form of a violent and superior being.
Antlers is based on the short story “The Quiet Boy”By Nick Antosca, also screenwriter of the film itself. Together with him there are also C. Henry Chaisson and Scott Cooper, with a production by Guillermo del Toro, David S. Goyer and J. Miles Dale.
In the cast we find the sweet and talented Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, Amy Madigan, Jeremy T. Thomas and Sawyer Jones.
