In this article we are going to see the review of Panasonic TX-55JZ1000E, 4k TV, HDR with voice assistant and much more
It’s been some time since our last review of a Panasonic TV but despite the speed at which technology runs, we never expected so many steps forward in such a short time.
We have always appreciated the TVs produced by the Japanese company but never as now we are happy to be able to tell you about a product that is mature and excellent.
Design true to the brand | Panasonic TX-55JZ1000E review
The new model from Panasonic remains faithful to the brand’s sober and dynamic aesthetic style. We find in fact two sides on three practically without a frame!
For obvious reasons we find the side that runs on the base of the TV with a frame that is a few millimeters thicker. This is needed to contain the remote control receiver and notification LED which varies in color in as usual.
Practical side one thing that catches the eye (or back really) is the weight that decreases by at least 6 7 KG compared to the past.
Obviously, like all the latest models launched as early as 2020, we find a circular floor lamp that allows us to rotate the TV by 180 °. The choice of the floor lamp turns out to be spot on as it is solid and not too bulky.
Equally obviously remains the possibility of hanging the TV on the wall. In order to proceed with the fixing operation we find a Vesa attachment (300 * 300).

Audio and video at the top? | Panasonic TX-55JZ1000E review
The new processor combined with the excellent panel allow us to enjoy truly excellent colors. Obviously, thanks to OLED technology, blacks are absolute and consequently excellent.
To have a color rendering without having to go too crazy among the various settings, which we also recommend you to try, you can choose the cinema mode which in our opinion turns out to be the most balanced one.
The HDR, Dolby Vision IQ functions combined with the excellent general quality of the panel allow you to enjoy truly enviable images.
For those who do not yet know the function Netflix Calibrated Mode we could really simplistically define it this way; the function, which I remember does not require activation, allows us to enjoy the highest quality of the most famous streaming system in the world thanks to a partnership between the parties.
Basically there is an optimization of the image directly at the source of the video source that gives us the possibility of having better colors, lighting effects and many other goodies able to make us enjoy the best Netflix TV series to the fullest.
Thanks to the equipment of the OLED Master HDR panel, this TV boasts warm colors and almost perfectly illuminated! After spending hours viewing all kinds of content, we can only give full marks to the colors and images reproduced by this 4K OLED panel.
In a nutshell we really have nothing to complain about the video part of this TV.
Furthermore a very important part of the video package is the ability to take advantage of an HD-MI 2.1 connection combined with VRR technology. In the past, these TVs (like almost all OLED panels) were highly not recommended for gaming. Thanks to the addition of these technologies, however, the situation changes drastically!
Let’s see how the audio behaves
Although the audio is supported by Dolby Atmos and Cinema Surround PRO technologies, it did not fully convince us.
As long as you stay in the safe zone of television programs or watch some “quiet” TV series there will be no major problems but if you ask for something more, the limitations are obvious.
The low-bodied basses fail to return a noteworthy audio sector. Do not misunderstand we are faced with a good audio system but which turns out to be little “colored” in some situations.
Let’s see the Smart features of this Panasonic TV
The news in this new version of the Panasonic TV is not lacking and we have already begun to see it in the previous paragraphs. We wink at gaming but a TV must also have a respectable media sector to consider itself in step with the times.
Speaking very frankly, what we have always criticized the excellent Panasonic televisions up to now was undoubtedly the lack of a proper store.
Many apps that became part of the collective imagination were neither present nor downloadable by default.
With this new software Panasonic keeps its nature, very far from Android TV, but it finally allows us to have a rich catalog.
In fact, it is now possible to download for example the app that allows us to watch the best movies on Disney Plus or even essential apps for watching sports such as dazn.
Obviously the catalog is much richer than that but to give an idea I think it is enough to mention these two new entries.
Another fundamental step is undoubtedly the inclusion of a virtual assistant within the TV itself. In fact, you can use your Panasonic TX-55JZ1000E exactly as you would with any speaker or as you do in everyday life with your smartphone.
Too bad for the usual too retro remote control which, given the latest additions, could easily have been replaced with a smarter one.
Who should buy this TX-55JZ1000e?
In conclusion we can say that the new Panasonic TVs have made further leaps and bounds. They are able to reaffirm all the good things we have seen in the past and add important functions that enhance their quality.
The additional features dedicated to gaming, the inclusion of a voice assistant and a catalog of apps finally worthy of the name greatly increase the already excellent quality of the package.
The new processor makes an already good panel almost perfect! Too bad for historical defects such as the audio that sins in the deeper tones and remains a bit impersonal on the others.
We would have liked a restaling of the remote controller as well.
Overall, if you are looking for an OLED that gives a lot of satisfaction, which allows you to enjoy extraordinary colors and in which time you wink at gaming all without costing exorbitant figures (it is found around 1200 euros) you have found it.
Unmissable at the right price
Points in favor
- A spectacular OLED panel
- A great processor
- Lots of news …
Points against
- but also some historical problems
- That remote would need a makeover
