While the first generation of active backplate cooling solutions were just adaptations of a standard backplate with a small block of water, the EK-Quantum Vector series features a water block to full length on the back of the graphics card.

This was made possible by the addition of a brass insert machined in the terminal itself that connects the water block diagonally to the active backplate.
