Capcom has just published the logo dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Street Fighter and many are already thinking that the Osaka-based software house has some news on the next chapter of the series, which should arrive right in the 2022. It must be said that the first chapter of the fighting game was released on August 12, 1987, so it is possible that the date to wait is precisely that.
What’s new coming to Street Fighter?
Capcom has already confirmed a few months ago that the new chapter of Street Fighter would arrive in 2022, and given that the thirty-fifth anniversary of the saga will fall just the next August 12 it is very likely that the game will arrive in the summer months. What we do know for sure though is that Luke, the most recently introduced character, will play a pivotal role in the upcoming Street Fighter.
Currently, Capcom’s plans regarding i 35 years of the franchise I’m not clear, and it’s hard even to imagine if in 2022 we will only see the next chapter of the series or maybe even one collection dedicated to this very important birthday for the entire IP. What is certain is that the studio will probably go big, given the importance of this saga.
Before Monster Hunter was consecrated by World as Capcom’s best-selling title ever, in fact this title belonged to Street Fighter, which still maintains the scepter of the most iconic and well-known product for the Osaka house. It therefore seems that there is not much lack of some juicy news on Street Fighter 6, which could arrive over the next few months.
To be more specific Capcom is likely to break the silence in spring, since he also postponed the announcements regarding Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, the G expansion of the new portable chapter of Monster Hunter, to that period.
