Apparently Tesla is testing the option of paying with Dogecoin, as a result the cryptocurrency has risen by 12%.
Hi, I would like a Tesla, can I pay in Dogecoin?
According to the Cypto News Media portal, Tesla would be testing the possibility of allowing its buyers to pay in Dogecoin (DOGE). Not a new move for the company Elon Musk, always attentive to the crypto market, especially DOGE. According to a report published by The Block, the option would be for now only available to a few users, confirming that the maneuver is still being tested.
The Block also reports that the web code for processing payments in DOGE has already appeared in the Javascript used by Tesla. A move that follows the words of Elon Musk, who already last December it announced that the company would accept payments in Dogecoin in 2022. We can therefore expect an official announcement in the coming days. Moreover, on the American website of the brand there is an article that explains, step by step, how to use DOGE on the TeslaShop.
The news spreads and the value of DOGE rises by 12%
Following the rumors about the tests, Dogecoin’s price has risen nearly 12% in just two hours. The last week had also been particularly positive for the crypto, whose value increased by 25% in 7 days. After hitting an all-time high of over $ 0.70 in May 2021, DOGE has been on a downward trend. However, with a market cap of over $ 25 billion, the meme coin is currently ranked 11th in the list of the most valuable cryptocurrencies.
