A new rumor, released by well-known insider Tom Henderson, makes it clear how the release of Dragon Age 4 for this year cannot be a possibility
The Game Awards 2021 closed the year in a more than satisfactory way: in addition to the award ceremony, there were several interesting announcements, foreshadowing a future full of news from the gaming industry. Therefore, having reached 2022, we are already starting to see some important works in the pipeline, such as the gigantic Dying Light 2, the very special Sifu, the new effort by Hidetaka Miyazaki Elden Ring and the inevitable new exclusive PlayStation Horizon Forbidden West. But even if these games will certainly occupy a considerable portion of gamers’ time, there is still a lack of one series in particular, which has not come alive for several years now: that of Dragon Age. We do not know for sure how BioWare is currently doing, but news from an insider leads us to discover some rumors about the state of the new Dragon Age 4 and its release, which it appears more and more distant.
The rumor that casts doubts on the release of Dragon Age 4
After the rather positive reception of Dragon Age Inquisition despite all the problems typical of BioWare titles, such as bugs and technical difficulties, the development studio announced the new game during The Game Awards 2018 with the usual teaser trailer, now a trademark for the new chapters of the BioWare sagas. Since then, other videos of the same genre have been released, along with concept art and key visual, swithout ever delving too deeply into the side of the story or gameplay. In the past, however, there have been several innovations related to the production of the game: we know how it has restarted several times, also losing important pieces within the development team, including the director himself.

— Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) January 20, 2022
On Twitter, Tom Henderson returns to reveal some information on important titles belonging to Electronic Arts, talking about Battlefield, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Need for Speed and even Dragon Age 4. On the latter, Henderson’s words do not allow us to have high hopes, as he explicitly states it as Dragon Age 4 has no chance to find an release in 2022. This information would have been obtained from a source he knew of EA’s plans, although the same publisher had previously hinted at a release date by 2023. Meanwhile, BioWare skipped The Game Awards 2021 last month, but said they are still at work and are “excited for next year.” It may therefore be that we will receive more information in the near future.
