The LEGO Vespa 125 set
LEGO Vespa 125
LEGO Vespa 125 was born with the idea of celebrating the engineering and stylistic avant-garde of the most beloved and iconic two-wheeler ever, capable of enchanting both Italians and the rest of the world.
To characterize the set, consisting of 1106 pieces, we find a multitude of details, such as the bouquet of flowers in the basket on the back, the spare wheel, the removable engine hood, the handlebar with steering wheel and the kickstand. The coloring, a pastel blue, recalls the shades of the 60s and the Vespa world; then we have a wheel made up of two colors, black for the rubber and white for the inner part of the tire, which represents a unicum in the world of colored bricks.
“Working with the Piaggio team to create this two-wheeled masterpiece was an incredible experience! The design part of the set that impressed me most was the reproduction of the details of the original model, an opportunity to celebrate the classic Vespa of the 1960s. In the conception phase, this model took me back in time, inspiring my imagination and creativity. Let’s hope the experience is the same for the fans! ”He said Florian MullerSenior Designer of the LEGO Group.
“Collaborating with LEGO was an extraordinary experience because it brought two dreams, LEGO and Vespa together, sharing the infinite possibilities of expression that they can offer their fans. – explains Marco Lambri, Head of Piaggio Group Design Center – Two extraordinary brands capable of crossing different eras, always knowing how to reinvent themselves because in their DNA there is the ability to unite and build. As a designer, the challenge was to make the soft shapes of the Vespa coexist with those of the LEGO bricks, and it seems to me a challenge that was definitely won “.
