Apple just launched his new M1 Ultra chip on Mac Studiobut the next generation is coming: mac mini will have two variations with M2 e M2 Pro. According to the latest rumors, Apple could announce them as early as WWDC 2022 in June.
Mac mini will come with M2 and M2 Pro chips
According to reports 9to5Mac, the new Mac mini J473 will be powered by a chip M2, the new generation of processors for Mac and iPad. It will be the first generational leap since the launch of the M1 in 2020 (which arrived on iPad Air on Tuesday) and will launch the new Apple chip line.
In Cupertino the code name of the chip would be Staten and it is based on the current mobile A15 chip, while M1 is based on the A14 Bionic. Will have otto core CPU, split 50-50 into core performance (codenamed Avalanche) and efficient (codenamed Blizzard). This new generation, however, will have 10 core GPU.
But according to 9to5Mac Apple is already preparing a M2 Pro to be launched with Mac Mini (J474). This chip should have 12 core CPU, eight for performance and four for energy efficiency. A step up from the current M1 Pro, which has ten.
Apple would already be working on too M2 Max e M2 Ultra, although at the moment it does not appear to be ready to launch. Instead, the Mac mini models with the M2 and M2 Pro are expected to arrive by WWDC 2022 in June. So we won’t have to wait long to learn about Apple’s computational news.
