Components and preparation | Candy Lab Review
Components
Inside the box we find:
- 27 candy bars in 3 colors: pink, blue, yellow (9 bars for each color)
- 42 order cards: 12 cards with one bar (3 points), 18 cards with 2 bars (2 points) and 12 cards with 3 bars (1 point)
- 4 Help cards
- 1 Golden Trick card
Preparation
First of all, place all the bars in a row, in random order, in the center of the table with the numbers written above clearly visible; this row represents the conveyor belt from which the bars must be taken to fulfill the orders of their customers. Deal one Help card to each player and then the following number of Order cards:
- 5 cards in a 3 or 4 player game
- 6 cards in a 2-player game
Order cards must be kept face down. You are now ready to welcome and serve your customers!
How to play and variants | Candy Lab Review
How to play
Shifts take place clockwise. During their turn, players must perform one of these 3 actions:
Variants
- In variant for two players, after having dealt 6 cards each, place 6 more cards (also face down) beside the players to form a “third hand”; this is to carry out the exchange of the deck. Then a player (after using the effect of the swap deck candy) can choose whether to change his deck with the second player or with that of the “third hand”
- Other variations you can find them on the website www.craniocreations.it
End of the game | Candy Lab Review
The game can end in two ways:
Finally, the total points are counted by adding those of the cards with those of the bars. The player with the most points wins the game and is appointed master pastry chef!
In case of a tie, the player with the most bars wins the game.
Conclusion | Candy Lab Review
Candy Lab is a good time filling game. It has excellent material, a simple regulation and it is quick to start, the only flaw is that if you play too many games in a row you risk becoming monotonous because it lacks a bit of bite.
