Where the Crawdads Sing, a feature film based on the best-seller by Delia Owens, will debut in Italian cinemas next summer. The first Italian trailer of the film has been released, which you can see here.
The film is produced by Sony Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros Entertainment Italia, and is thefilm adaptation of the novel by Delia Owenswhich has sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide and which in 2019 remained at the top of the list of US best sellers drawn up by the New York Times for five consecutive weeks, published in Italy by Solferino Libri.
The fit was written by Lucy Alibarwith Olivia Newman to directwhile Reese Witherspoon will be the producer through his company Hello Sunshine.
The cast includes: Daisy Edgar-Jones who will play the lead character Kya, a girl who grew up alone in the dangerous swamps of North Carolina; Harris Dickinson; Taylor John Smith e David Strathairn.
The plot
Thanks to the pages of Delia Owens, a compelling mystery comes to life. Where the Crawdads Sing puts on stage the story of Kyaa girl who was abandoned and managed to grow up completely alone, in the cold, humid and dangerous swamps of North Carolina.
Rumors have been circulating about her for years in the nearby town of Barkley Cove, further isolating the strong and wild Kya from her community.
Kya begins to get closer to the city when two young guys start showing interest in her, but when one of the two is found deadis immediately listed as the prime suspect.
As the investigation continues the case becomes more and more intricate and difficult to unraveland what really happened threatens to reveal the many secrets that lurk within the swamp.
