1943. Allied forces are determined to resolve the world conflict and break the German grip on Europe once and for all. The solution is represented by a landing in Sicily, trying to prevent his army from being massacred in the attempt. The task falls on two intelligence agentsEwen Montagu (Colin Firth) e Charles Cholmondeley (Matthew Macfadyen). The two give life to the most ingenious and unlikely disinformation strategy of war, centered on the most unlikely of secret agents: a dead man. The Weapon of Deception – Operation Mincemeat, is the extraordinary true story of an idea that hoped to change the course of the war. The two agents, defying all logic, will set up one of the greatest intelligence resolutions in history.
The film is directed by John Madden and the cast includes Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Johnny Flynn, Paul Ritter Jason Isaac e Tom Wilkinson. The film is based on the book of the same name by Ben Macintyre, which had already been adapted as a documentary by the BBC. The screenplay is edited by Michelle Ashford. Filming began in 2019 between London and Spain, and continued over the next two years. The film, produced by Warner Bros. and distributed by the same in Italy, the next one will arrive in our cinemas May 12.
