The new Disney movie for the whole family, Better Nate Than Nothing is available on the streaming platform from April 1st
With the arrival of April, Disney Plus has announced new films, TV series and documentaries that will soon arrive on the platform. The first has already been loaded; it’s about Better Nate than nothing, a film suitable for the whole family. It is a film that winks at musical and is based on the novel of the same name by Tim Federle in 2013, who also directed the film.

Nate Foster is a 13-year-old boy with a big dream of becoming a Broadway star. At school, however, his life is not easy: he is targeted by his classmates and is totally ignored at the selections for the school play. The only person who really believes in him is Libby, his best friend, who offers him to leave for New York, to audition for the Lilo & Stitch show. Once in town, the two boys will have an unexpected meeting with Heidi, Nate’s aunt who will turn their journey upside down.
In Better Nate Than Nothing, the protagonist is played by Rueby Wood, in its first appearance on the big screen; at his side Aria Brooks ad interpretare Libby, Joshua Bassett as Nate’s brother e Lisa Kudrowbest known for her role in the beloved series Friends, here playing Heidi.
The film is produced by Adam Seal e Marc Plattthe latter already famous for films such as La La Land (2016) e Cruelties (2021). Tim Federle e Pamela Thur they are the executive producers.

Better Nate that Nothing is a movie that pushes the viewer to run towards your dreams e search for their own identity. One of the key themes of the film is theinadequacy experienced by many young people and the difficulties inbe freely yourself, accepting oneself without being afraid of the judgment of others. However, these problems clash with the awareness of being born to do something we feel inside and that must find expression.
Tim Federle, director and creator of the novel and the film, confessed that there is very personal in this tale. He talks about how he was always the last to be chosen for dodgeball games, but that he was able to take advantage of his negative experiences for the story.
Federle then added:
I wanted to create a film for the whole family that everyone could enjoy. When you have a big dream, whether it’s Broadway or becoming a chess champion or going to the Olympics, many people can relate to the idea of feeling different from others and wanting to find people who are more like them.
