Remedy Entertainment has announced that it will develop remakes of the iconic video games Max Payne e Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, thanks a new collaboration agreement with Rockstar Games. In both cases, these are games that have left an indelible mark on the videogame world, praised for their neo-noir atmosphere, revolutionary storytelling and gameplay between action and stealth.
Max Payne: remakes of the first two chapters in development
Under the agreement signed today, Remedy will develop the games as a single title for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S using its proprietary Northlight game engine. The game budget will be financed by Rockstar Games and at the level of production values we are talking about a title in line with a typical Remedy AAA game production.
Under the agreement, Remedy has the ability to collect some royalty earnings from this ambitious remake after Rockstar Games has recouped the development, marketing, and costs of distributing and publishing the game.
