During the afternoon of May 1st, a hacker attack hit the hospitals and territorial units of Asst Fatebenefratelli Sacco (Fatebenefratelli, Sacco, Buzzi and Melloni). Due to the severity of this attack, emergency rooms and hospital withdrawal points are able to accept patient access in a limited way. Here are the details that emerged about the attack:

Computer systems have gone haywire enough to push the structures to use paper forms to complete the practices. They are also provided inconvenience for outpatient services. The hacker attack that hit the hospitals had consequences on all company offices, as confirmed by the Lombardy Region.
At the moment, the restoration work is in progress but it will be necessary to wait several hours, or days, before it returns to normal. Asst confirmed an imminent presentation of a formal complaint about the incident. The technicians of the regional IT security services and the Postal Police have already intervened for all the necessary investigations.
The comment of the region
In a press release, the Lombardy Region confirms that: “The booked outpatient visits and pre-hospitalization activities are in any case guaranteed” and that the hacker attack was successful “despite the increase in the security measures put in place in the last months”. At the moment, the restoration work has not yet definable times. Further updates are expected to arrive in the next few hours, in parallel with the completion of the restoration work.
