The launch of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ it was scheduled for May but it may have been postponed. The confirmation comes from the Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station who stressed how the choice is linked to the new wave of the pandemic and its effects on production activities.

According to revealed by the insiderQualcomm would have decided to postpone the launch of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ to the second half of 2022. The SoC, therefore, will not be available between May and June, as previously anticipated. Note that the first smartphone to use the new chip could be the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, future top of the range of the Motorola line. This detail was also confirmed by the Chinese insider.
Top performance and efficiency for the new SoC
The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ will be made by TSMC which, thanks to a more optimized production process than that of Samsung (which makes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1), should guarantee better performance and, above all, greater energy efficiency. Note that the SoC should also register a net performance improvement on the GPU side. The new SoC, at this point, will only be available in a few months.
