The new M2 chip on Apple is up to 20% faster of the M1 chip when it comes to multi-core performance. That’s according to the M2 benchmarks leaked from the upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro that were revealed on Geekbench today. But let’s find out something more.
M2, Apple’s chip turns out to be faster than its predecessor
According to what was leaked on Geekbench, Apple’s new M2 chip – which runs at 3.49 GHz compared to the M1’s 3.2 GHz – has achieved a single-core score of 1919, which is about 12% faster than the 1707 single-core score of the 13-inch MacBook Pro M1. Also, the M2 got a multi-core score of 8928, about 20% higher than the model’s M1 score of 7419. On the other hand, Apple itself has claimed that the M2 is up to 18% faster of the M1, then the Geekbench 5 test turns out to be perfectly in line with the claims of the Cupertino company.
As for the Metal benchmark, the M2 chip scored 30627, a notable improvement over the M1 score of 21001. The new Appe chip, in fact, offers one GPU up to 10 cores. Without a doubt an improvement over the maximum of 8 cores of the directly predecessor model. As far as we know, the new chip will be available on new ones MacBook Air 2022 e MacBook 13-inch Pro.
