Critically acclaimed, Downton Abbey II: A New Era has been described as “fun and heart warming in equal measure” (Screenrant). The second film based on the popular British TV series returns to warm the hearts of our homes with a home video edition that will allow us to spend the summer evenings with special contents from the set of this edition.
Downton Abbey II: A new era, the plot of the film
The long-awaited return to the cinemas of Downton Abbey see family Crowley together with their servants engaged in welcoming a film crew that has to shoot a silent film in the sumptuous home of the aristocratic protagonists, all this while other members of the Parton family in the south of France to discover the past of the Contessa Dowager. A plot that promises emotions and lots of humor. Unlike the first film, directed by Michael Engler in 2019, Downton Abbey II bears the directing signature of Simon Curtis.
Dualism is a constant in this second film: the relationship between past and present is constant, therefore accepting the innovations that the beginning of the twentieth century imposes without canceling the old customs. The duality is also present in the characters and settings. The characters live the film in the film, becoming spectators and actors, while the settings change from the first film, passing from England to the lush Cote d’Azur.

Downton Abbey: A new era, extra content
After availability only in streaming and download, Downton Abbey II – A new era will be available from July 14 on DVD and Blu-ray: lots of extra content from the set which made all fans of the TV series fall in love. The film is presented on Blu-ray with the original 2.39: 1 cinematic aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos audio for the English and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 for the Italian track. In addition, it will be available in another collector’s edition on DVD containing the two films. Among the most interesting extra contents we point out:
