The universe of Predator comes back to life after years: on Disney + comes Prey, the new chapter of the successful franchise
The wait is finally about to end: starting from 5th August Prey will be available on the Disney + app. The Predator universe comes to life with a prequel chapter, which has already garnered many positive reviews. The film got very enthusiastic opinions in the preliminary visions, with several positive comments at the end of each review in which it was presented. Finally, Prey is also offered to viewers, who have been waiting for many years to return to experience the narrative universe of Predator.
Prey: the plot and the cast
Prey is the fifth installment of the Predator saga and therefore takes place in the Comanche Native American nation, 300 years earlier than the events of the first 1987 film. The plot of the film revolves around the young warrior. Naru, who has the face of Amber Midthunder (Roswell, New Mexico). The protagonist grew up surrounded by some of the most famous hunters of the Great Plains and finds herself chasing a prey, which however turns out to be a highly sophisticated and dangerous alien predator.
In the cast, alongside the protagonist, we find Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Tordo and Julian Black Antelope. The predatory creature will instead be played by Dane DiLiegro, a former university basketball star who has already played the role of other creatures in the TV series American Horror Stories and Home sweet Home.
The Predator saga
So another great franchise is back to life, which began in 1987 with the film Predator, a cult of the sci-fi genre starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Three years later Predator 2 was released, which projects the story in a different scenario, passing from the Central American jungle of the first chapter, to the urban one of Los Angeles of the second.
The third installment of the saga came several years later, in 2010, after the two spin-off crossover Alien vs. Predator. Predator 3 sees the presence of Adrien Brody in the role of the protagonist, while in 2018 comes the fourth and final chapter with Boyd Holdbrook.
So now, after four years of waiting, the quinto film of the long Predator saga, a sequel that therefore places itself in a primary position from a chronological point of view and that continues to expand the narrative universe of this successful franchise.
