Already this morning we talked about the difficulties that the new owners of the iPhone 14 are encountering due to an iOS 16 bug. Apparently, in fact, users may have problems with iMessage e FaceTime after setting up your phone. So let’s find out what it is and how it is possible to solve them.
iPhone 14: how to fix iMessage and FaceTime problems
Among the problems found by Apple with the initialization of the iPhone 14 are: the inability to receive iMessages or FaceTime calls, sending a message to another Apple device displays a green speech bubble instead of blue, recipients see messages sent from the wrong account. How, then, to solve these problems? According to Apple, the solution to improve is update the iPhone to iOS 16.0.1. Therefore, if you receive a notification that the update is available, just click on “Install now” to fix the bugs.
Or, if you prefer, you can follow these steps:
- connect the iPhone 14 to a power outlet using a Lighting cable, and make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network
- open the Settings
- Tap General and then select Software Update
- choose the “Download and Install” option, and enter your code if prompted.
What to do, however, if you continue to experience problems even after the update? Here are some steps to follow:
- in the Settings select the item “Cellular / Mobile data”, and make sure that your line is actually active
- access the Settings again and select the items “Messages”, “Send and receive”
- select the phone number you want to use for sending messages
- go back to Settings, select FaceTime and then the phone number you want to use.
And if that doesn’t work either, you have to try connecting the iPhone 14 to a Mac to initialize it. Optionally, either of these methods will work.
