Samsung Electronics today announced the expansion of its partnership with Google to bring interoperability of Smart home to a higher level. In the coming months, users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets will easily integrate devices compatible with Matter in SmartThings ecosystems e Google Home.
So far, smart home owners have found it difficult to use their devices in multiple ecosystems. Connecting devices between ecosystems often required many steps through different apps to link accounts, which didn’t always work properly. This meant that users had to memorize which apps and interfaces they could control or activate a particular device. The multi-admin capabilities of the Matter standard allow devices to be directly connected to multiple apps and ecosystems, giving consumers more flexibility and choice.

Samsung and Google rely on multi-admin. Allowing users to seamlessly find, decide to connect and control Matter-enabled devices through apps SmartThings o Google Home for Android. When users log into the app SmartThings, are informed by the Matter devices set up with Google Home and have the option to choose to easily integrate those devices with SmartThings and vice versa. This way, users will be able to control smart home devices from both the SmartThings app and a Google Nest Hub.
