The trailer for Miracle – Story of crossed destinies by Bogdan George Apetri has been released, from 27 October in Italian cinemas
Miracle – Story of crossed destinies is a compelling work that blends drama and thriller in perfect balance. Distributed by Trent Film and presented in the Orizzonti Competition at the Venice Film Festival 2021, the film narrates a totally unpredictable story without forgetting, however, the criticism of Romanian society today.
The film, in fact, won the prize of the Interreligious Jury at the Tertio Millennium, for the courage in the choices of direction and for the originality in addressing the theme of spirituality in an increasingly secularized world.
The plot
The story revolves around the nineteen year old nun Cristina who secretly leaves the monastery where she lives to take care of an urgent matter.
Her journey takes her around the city, first in a hospital and then in search of a man. Not finding him, Cristina lingers, but in this way she loses the passage agreed to return. So she finds a makeshift taxi, however she she does not know that an unexpected fate awaits her on the way back to the monastery.
Director’s statements about the film
Director Bogdan George Apetri explains that the film represents two sides of the same coin. On the one hand there is a more realistic worldview, on the other hand one based on faith. Not even on purpose is the story divided into two chapters.
The story works well wherever you look at it.
It is not about answering questions, but offering a starting point and an arrival point, even if mysteriousvalid, unique and unrepeatable.
The equation of a perfect, well-balanced dualism is highlighted: a realistic approach that can very well be reinterpreted in a spiritual way.
