Originally known as Project Canis Majoris, The Witcher Remake has been officially confirmed by CD Projekt Red: let’s find out together all the details revealed so far
By now talking about CD Projekt Red has almost become a bugbear, due to the terrible reputation that the development house has acquired after the equally terrible launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Before then, in reality, the Polish software house was extremely respected in the field. videogame, also thanks to the love and affection (still present) that a huge slice of gamers had towards The Witcher series, especially towards the third chapter. That yes, apparently it’s official, is about to return with a remake of the first chapter of the Geralt of Rivia trilogy. In the past few hours, in fact, CD Projekt Red has officially unveiled the existence of The Witcher Remake.
The game is currently in the very early stages of development and is in the hands of Fool’s Theory, a third-party software house led by former The Witcher developers. CD Projekt Red, according to the words of the frontman who broke the news, is leading the creative side, supervising it in all its details. However, we do know that The Witcher Remake is the previously known Project Canis Majoris, but it is not the only project dedicated to the series under development at CDPR. There is also the well-known Project Polaris, the beginning of a new trilogy dedicated to The Witcher, which has more than 150 employees at work and which will see two sequels arrive over the course of six years. We see!

The Witcher Remake: the first timid details revealed by CDPR
Regarding The Witcher Remake, CDPR studio head Adam Badowski said:
The Witcher was our starting point, the starting point of CD Projekt RED. It was the first game we ever created and it was of paramount importance. Returning to those moments and recreating the game for the new generation of gamers to experience is an equally important moment, if not more so. […] Teaming up with Fool’s Theory on the project is just as exciting, considering some of the employees have been involved in the development of previous The Witchers. They know the material very well, they know how much gamers have always wanted a Remake and they also know how to create incredible and terribly ambitious games. And while it will still take some time before we can reveal more of the game to you, know that it will be worth it.
