Friday 28 October, on the opening day of Lucca Comics & Games 2022the launch party of Communityverse, a new experimental cultural section, between the physical and the digital, entirely dedicated to new technologies and languages. The event will be broadcast in live streaming from 20:00, complete with a virtual DJ set by DJ Catherine Poulain.
The project aims to bring some of the most important web technologies to Lucca Comics & Games, the largest European festival dedicated to geek culture. Among these the Metaverse, NFTs, blockchain technology and much moresuch as generative art, cryptocurrencies and AI (artificial intelligence).

The appointment for the inauguration is set for 28 October, when the History Channel will propose an extraordinary Deejay set with Catherine Poulain in the gladiator arena. Influencer with 500,000 followers, Catherine is one of the most requested deejays behind the consoles of Italian and international nightlife. It will be possible to follow the event from 20:00 at this link.
The events will continue until the end of the fair, on November 1st, at the basement of the Casermetta di San Pietro (Baluardo dei Balestrieri), in the “Sacristy” meeting room in the East Village and obviously online. Among the announced appointments we point out:
- Presentation of the Luccaverse: the metaverse of LC & G2022 specially created by The Nemesis (entertainment platform that offers innovative virtual reality experiences),
- History Channel Italia will present the Colosseum Metaverse with an exhibition called Multiverse of Metaverses (in the basement of the Casermetta di San Pietro)
- Coderblock will make another metaverse experience of the festival community-oriented of the Discord social platform
- Treasure hunt The 10 Gems of Lucca: an augmented reality gaming experience proposed by OverTheReality.
- Virtual exhibitions of the Doge’s Palace
Finally, various experiences related to new NFT technologies will be available online. These include projects relating to the world of Cosplay, the Japan area, gaming and physical presence at the festival, with the aim of experimenting with digital wallets and transactions on the blockchain.
