The news comes from Eurogamer. The portal has in fact noticed some job advertisements published by Netflix Games Studio, which would be looking for some professional figures for the development of a new title. What we know about Netflix’s PC game
As announced, the information is scarce, but what is certain is that the development team will be led by Chacko Sonny, former executive producer of Overwatch. Netflix is currently looking for a Game Director, Lead Engineer and Live Services Analyst. This last figure suggests that the game could be an online multiplayer. Chief Engineer position announcement reveals it will be a third-person action RPG – The project is described as a “brand new triple A pc game” built on Unreal Engine.
According to Eurogamer, the game may not be a standalone project, quite the contrary. The portal suggests that the video game could be integrated with a film or a TV series. Hypothesis that refers a lot to Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, the Netflix interactive TV series. To endorse this hypothesis are the requirements for the role of game director. In fact, the company is looking for a figure capable of creating a game “worthy of a Netflix movie / TV series”. This assumption would also justify the announcement for the live analyst position.
