Sensational rumors from overseas: the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man would seem practically certain
We have been talking about it for some time, but now the news is bouncing wildly: Robert Downey Jr. will return in the role of Iron Man. The actor’s last appearance in the role of the famous hero, we know very well, dates back to 2019, when Tony Stark saved the entire universe thanks to his sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. Since that moment, although Iron Man’s journey within the MCU was evidently over, rumors have continually recurred about his possible return and now the news seems to find a lot of confirmation.
The source that forcefully launched the news is the Twitter account MyTimeToShineHello, which very often proved to be reliable. Robert Downey Jr. should even return to more than one Marvel project: news that obviously sent all the fans of the superhero universe of the House of Ideas into raptures.
Robert Downey Jr.: where he could return as Iron Man
According to the aforementioned Twitter account, the actor will definitely return to Avengers: Secret Wars, one of the two mega events that will close out the six phase of the MCU. Most likely, however, we will see Robert Downey Jr. again in the role of the beloved superhero in another film, namely Armor Wars, project that, born as a series, has become a film and will revolve around Colonel James Rhodes, or War Machine. For the occasion, we will be able to see a cameo in his brotherly friend Tony Stark.
The news, obviously, is to be confirmed officially, but the source, as mentioned, is very reliable and the fans are already showing all their enthusiasm for the eventual return of Robert Downey Jr. within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A scenario that is still being defined, but very promising indeed.
