After the success of WandaVision, Marvel Studios inaugurate the second original series: The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, out today on Disney+.
The Phase 4 MCU is proceeding at full speed, proving that it has nothing to envy to the films of the previous phases. WandaVision, as well as the very first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, are presented as products of excellent quality, entertaining the viewer from the very beginning.
If the goal of Marvel Studios was to pique the curiosity of fans most linked to the saga, I’m sure they have achieved their goal in full. The perfect mix of old and new, seasoned with references to the Avengers and the Blip, which halved the earth’s population for 5 years, immediately brings us to the box office record Avengers: Endgame; this time, however, what interests us most is knowing what happens next.
Sebastian Stan e Anthony Mackie come back in style, bringing a more mature and introspective version of their characters, proving once again that a superhero series is not all about action.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier looks similar to WandaVision in its focus on psychological introspection, but different in aesthetic representation (certainly more dynamic) e stylistic (very close to previous films).

Symbols are empty without the people giving them meaning.
Sam Wilson – The Falcon – opens the dances of the first episode, showing all the inadequacy that hides behind the left of Captain America: the shield. In the absence of his mentor, we are faced with a hero who seems to have lost his armor, revealing himself to all intents and purposes human.
In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier we reckon, even more than in WandaVision, with the effects of post Thanos. Sam Wilson carries with him the enormous weight of a great legacy, incredulous that he can only minimally equal his predecessor. It is analyzed in detail the bond between Falcon and Captain America, revealing a relationship of friendship that goes beyond the boundaries of brotherhood and mutual esteem. Trust, without a doubt, is the essence of the relationship; the same that pushed Captain America to pass the baton, granting his friend that symbol, the shield, which holds a much deeper importance than the emotional value.
Anthony Mackie he holds up very well the role of Falcon, maintaining the characterization with which we have come to appreciate him in the MCU films, and adding a pinch of maturity that makes his story, his path, a path to follow with great interest.
We will certainly have the opportunity to see, in the next few episodes, how this empathic and judicious side of his can lead him towards the solution of the problem, the defeat of the threat and the showdown with the old mentor.
Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier | Recensione The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Did you have a nightmare James?
As Falcon tries to deal with the difficult investiture left by Captain American, Bucky Barnes – The Winter Soldier – is forced to juggle, for the first time since his entry into the MCU, with a normal life, away from wars and fighting.
But his head continues to be haunted by visions of the past, when he was an unwilling puppet of theHYDRA, resulting in recurring nightmares in an interesting version of post-traumatic stress.
Throughout the episode a calm, everyday, normal atmosphere accompanies the figure of Bucky, inevitably colliding with the whirlwind of emotions hidden within him. A new character emerges, absolutely different from how we left him, victim of his past experiences and in constant search for a redemption that never seems to come. Perhaps, of all, he is the one who has suffered most from the repercussions after Blip, from life after Thanos, from the loss of his friend Steve. He turns out to be a creature without reference points, estimatea, unable to entertain any kind of social relationship if not with those few present in the “list” of forgiveness.
The former Winter Soldier is trying to make amends, get forgiveness and permanently close something left open. Will he succeed? Or will he be catapulted back into the “war”?
Conclusions
The first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier manages to amaze the audience, setting the tone for the series.
Halfway between action and a mold more intimate and thoughtful, the second Marvel series finds the right way to delve into characters who never had the right representation on the big screen. Technically flawless, with breathtaking scenes accompanied by great sound, we can’t wait to know what the next 5 episodes have in store for us.
