After the success of the first two episodes of The Last of Us, broadcast on Sky and Now, HBO has confirmed that Season 2 will take place. The announcement came a few minutes ago on the show’s Twitter profile. Not a huge surprise, but still news that fans have been waiting for since the release of the first episode.
“The journey continues,” it reads in the postwhich arrives accompanied by a video of just 9 seconds that reveals the artwork of the second season.

The announcement of the renewal comes on a particularly exciting day for fans of the TV series which, we recall, takes up the events of the PlayStation video game of the same name. Just today Sky has in fact made a huge gift to everyone, especially to non-subscribers, by uploading the first episode of the series on YouTube, in full, and in Italian.
The series also brought back the song Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode, featured in the first episode of the series. In his review of The Last of Us TV series for techgameworld.com our Marco wrote:
“The Last of Us manages to find a very difficult meeting point between fidelity to the original videogame material and an authorial approach to television series, also highlighted by the decision to entrust the direction of some episodes to filmmakers of the caliber of Ali Abbassi (Border – Creature di confine, Holy Spider) e Jasmila Žbanić (Esma’s secret, Quo vadis, Aida?). We often find ourselves faced with scenes that are almost indistinguishable from those of the video game, even from the point of view of the shots, but the action of the game is compensated by the desire to wedge ourselves between the folds of the story and explore the personalities of the characters, betraying the material of departure when necessary“.
