These include the new BMW Individual paint finishes, new seating surfaces for the BMW Series range 7 and the BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlights, now also available for the BMW X7. Other important technological innovations concern the new Parking Assistant Professional, which includes the Remote Control Parking and the Maneuver Assistant via the My BMW App for the BMW iX, the BMW 7 Series and the BMW X7, and the BMW Curved Display and the BMW Operating System 8, now standard in the BMW 4 Series and BMW M4 models. Finally, the 22 kW charging cable will be introduced for all-electric models. In short, many new features that will give the BMW model range even more flair in the spring of 2023.

The BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlights, also on the BMW X7 since April
The unique front styling lends great visual impact to BMW luxury models. Here, the optional BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlights – first introduced on the new BMW 7 Series and also available for the BMW X7 from April 2023 – are the symbol of a particularly lively presence. With this option, crystals from Swarovski placed in the upper part of the headlights and backlit by LED units play the role of position and daytime running lights. Crystals reflect light in a multitude of facets both when the sun is shining and at night. These headlamps combine with the contour lighting of the BMW kidney grille to create a distinctive light signature.
From April 2023, customers will also be able to choose a new visual detail for the rear of the largest Sports Activity Vehicle: The optional M high-gloss Shadowline exterior equipment will now also include a rear trim strip in Black high-gloss.
BMW 7-series, X7, iX models 2023: Control parking maneuvers with iPhone
From spring 2023, parking the BMW 7 Series models, the BMW X7 and the BMW iX will be made easier thanks to the extension of the Parking Assistant Professional, an innovative digital technology in the field of automated driving and parking. The Parking Assistant Professional extension offers drivers the ability to steer the car into and out of parking spaces and to carry out more complex maneuvers from outside the car via the My BMW app on their smartphone ( available with version 2.12.x of the My BMW App). This feature makes it easier to park in extremely narrow or difficult to access spaces. For example, the driver can pause a parking maneuver already in progress, get out of the car and then resume the maneuver while monitoring the area around the car. He can also control the car’s exit from his smartphone using the Parking Assistant Professional.
Furthermore, thanks to the Maneuver Assistant function, also included in Parking Assistant Professional, the driver can also use this technology from outside the car and monitor progress with his smartphone up to a maximum distance of six meters from the vehicle. The Maneuver Assistant can record and store up to ten maneuvers in different locations, each of which can cover a distance of up to 200m and up to a total of 600m. When the vehicle returns to one of the starting points, the system performs all required driving operations in a fully automated form, including acceleration, braking, steering and, if necessary, multiple changes of direction and gear. And it can do this whether the driver remains inside the car or chooses to control the maneuver from the outside using his Apple iPhone.
BMW iX: Manually activated heat management for the high-voltage battery and the Trailer Assistant
All model variants of the purely electric BMW iX will be equipped with a further developed version of the heat management technology for the high-voltage battery from March 2023. As in the BMW i7, it will be possible to start the preheating of the battery manually and when the navigation system guidance is not active. Warming up the battery before a charging stop optimizes energy consumption when refueling at a DC fast charging station. The waste heat from the electric motors is used to regulate the battery temperature.
The Driving Assistant fitted as standard in the BMW iX will also include the Trailer Assistant from March 2023. This function performs the necessary steering movements when reversing when a trailer is coupled to the vehicle.
BMW Series 4 e BMW M4: Ora con BMW Operating System 8 e BMW Curved Display
Further digitization will increase the appeal of the BMW 4 Series models and the BMW M4 high-performance sports cars from spring 2023. These ultra-sporty cars for the premium midsize segment will be equipped as standard with the BMW Operating System 8 and will therefore also be equipped with the iDrive operating system with BMW Curved Display. The fully digital display group of the standard BMW Live Cockpit Plus consists of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a control display with a diagonal of 14.9 inches. The modern interior design and the extended functionality of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant make it possible to significantly reduce the number of buttons and commands in favor of voice and haptic control. An expressive welcome sound, which will now also be audible in the BMW i4 models when the driver’s or front passenger’s door is opened, underlines the digital advances introduced in the interior.
BMW M4
All engines available for the BMW 4 Series Coupé, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé and BMW 4 Series Convertible will be mated to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission as standard. From March 2023, this specification will also include paddle shifters on the steering wheel and a new gear selector in the center console control panel. The high-gloss M Shadowline for the side window surrounds will also be included as standard for all model variants.
The M interior trim in Aluminum Rhombicle Anthracite, added to the options list for models in the BMW 4 Series and for all variants of the BMW M4 Coupé and BMW M4 Convertible, will allow customers to further personalize the interior of their cars. From March 2023, the BMW M4 models will also be available to order with an instrument cluster made of Sensatec.
BMW 2023 electric models: new Mode 3 charging cable
From spring 2023, selected all-electric BMW models that support 22 kW AC charging will receive new features from the BMW Charging range to increase the efficiency and speed of charging their high-voltage batteries. All variants of the BMW iX, the BMW i7 xDrive60 (combined electricity consumption in the WLTP cycle: 19.6 – 18.4 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions: 0 g/km) and the BMW iX1 xDrive30 (combined electricity consumption in the WLTP cycle: 18.1 – 16.8 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions: 0 g/km) will be delivered with a Mode 3 Professional charging cable designed to operate at charging capacities up to 22 kW.
The new Mode 3 Professional charging cable allows you to use very high power AC public charging stations. The maximum usable charging capacity will now be double that of what was possible with the previously supplied Mode 3 charging cable.
