MWC 2023: what to expect from the Barcelona fair
The Mobile World Congress was born as an event in which telecommunications companies – smartphones, hardware, networks – could forge relationships with each other, with industry experts who went to catch the main trends. But in recent years the world of smartphones and technology in general has captured the interest of many: it has always become plus a “consumer” event, in which to announce news on the market.
If CES in Las Vegas is where we talk about tech news in general, the MWC in Barcelona puts the smartphone at the centre. This year, 75 mila people will visit Fira Barcelona to find out what’s new.
Smartphone brands increasingly tend to present products on show (live but also in streaming) dedicated to their top of the range, so we don’t expect many absolute novelties. But this will be a time to see the latest announcements live from brands such as Samsung e OnePluswho have just launched their top of the range.
Also, companies like Xiaomi o Honor have announced some products in China and will bring them to Europe for the first time – perhaps with some novelties for our market. And then there are Nokia, Huawei and many other brands.
