The re-elected FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, confirmed the arrival of FIFA 25, despite the lack of agreement with Electronic Arts, and claimed that he wanted to make it the best competitive football game on the market: let’s find out all the details together
The legal and media controversy that linked Electronic Arts and FIFA ended some time ago with a separation between the two companies. The next football game from Electronic Arts, after the highly popular FIFA 23 (our review here!), will therefore not be called FIFA 24, but EA Sports FC (which will still maintain more than 300 licenses). Does this mean that the FIFA franchise, after decades of uninterrupted domination of its reference market, will really come to an end? Apparently not.
In fact, the re-elected FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared the company’s plans for the next FIFA-branded games with the general public, stating that they still intend to release the annual chapter on the market, even if the developer will no longer be EA Sports. He also said that new FIFA games be it FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on will always be the best competitive football games for any boy or girl and that we will receive news regarding the franchise very soon.
Infantino says FIFA will go head-to-head with EA Sports by launching rival video game (EA Sports refused cash demands to keep FIFA’s name)
“The new FIFA game – the FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best egame for any girl or boy, we will have news on this very soon.”— Martyn Ziegler (@martynziegler) March 16, 2023
Gianni Infantino announces the company’s plans and confirms: FIFA 25 will be done!
Everything was disclosed by Martyn Ziegler, journalist of The Times, who reported the words of Infantino. Find the Tweet above. At the end of the dispute with Electronic Arts, which led to the end of the partnership between the two companies, Infantino had stated that the game that will carry the FIFA name will always be the best option for the fans. And he then added:
The interactive gaming and eSports industry is on the path to tremendous growth as well as diversification. FIFA’s strategy is to ensure that we can make the most of our future options and to secure a broad range of products and opportunities for players, fans, association members and partners.
In short, according to Infantino for better or for worse FIFA 25 (and so the subsequent chapters, but we’ll see how things go) will be done. Without Electronic Arts, but it will.
