Some users of ChatGPT they claim that the chatbot AI it would show them conversations of other users, which would be a serious privacy and security problem. For those unfamiliar with ChatGPT, it is the AI-based conversational chatbot that can simulate humanoid conversations. To the left of the chat interface, the user can generally manage their conversation history with the bot, deleting certain past chats or picking up the conversation where it left off. It’s right in this one “history” section that many users have noticed the presence of chats that do not belong to them.
One of the users reports that he is able to see the chat title, but not its content.
ChatGPT will have to work on managing user privacy
Just yesterday (Monday March 20) the chatbot was offline for several hours. It is unclear whether the team of OpenAithe company that created ChatGPT, was working on the serious security problem.
We remind you that OpenAI, in the FAQ section of ChatGPT, recommends users of “do not share sensitive data in chats”. The company has promised to care about the safety and privacy of users, which is why the reports of these hours are of great concern. Added to this is that ChatGPT is literally the novelty of the moment, with over 100 million monthly active users within months of launch.
The chatbot at the moment it is not particularly reliable also from the point of view of the answersoften providing incorrect information. A more advanced version of ChatGPT has instead been integrated into the New Bing, with much better results. At the moment OpenAI has not publicly responded to the privacy issue encountered.
